Jonathan M. Richardson, D.V.M. "Dr. Jon"

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Jon Richardson completed his undergraduate studies in Animal Science and completed his DVM at Purdue University. He grew up on a farm in Wabash, IN where his family raised confinement cattle, swine, goats, chickens and harvested corn and soybeans. With his hands-on experience, Dr. Jon takes pride in building relationships with clients and offering quality services to help them grow their businesses. He is eager to diversify CalfCare’s food animal services including reproductive medicine, cow/calf, and small ruminant. He hopes to build his knowledge pertaining to neonatal calf management and help improve the industry through cutting edge research.

Dr. Jon was a national recipient for both the Amstutz Scholarship through the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) and Nandi Scholarship through the Society for Theriogenology (SFT) and is now a member of both committees looking to advocate for the future veterinarians of the cattle industry. He is a member of the AABP, AVC, SFT, AVMA and IVMA. When Dr. Jon is not visiting with calves, he helps on his family farm, goes hunting and fishing, and cheers on the Purdue football and basketball teams.

Dr. Jon strives to never stop learning and looking for ways to fulfill the global demands of (food – animal) agriculture.

He believes CalfCare’s unique practices in such a niche area of the livestock profession make us a one-of-a-kind business. We take pride in offering a quality service by not only consulting and providing products that help make producers successful, but also raising our own calves with the goal of perfecting those products and improving the services we provide.
