Andy Skidmore, D.V.M. "Dr. Andy"

Dr. Andrew Skidmore “Dr. Andy” received his DVM from Kansas State University. Following graduation, he joined a mixed animal practice in Wisconsin then attended Cornell University for his PhD in dairy cattle management. Following his PhD, he went on to be the dairy management specialist at Michigan State University. Departing Michigan State University lead Dr. Skidmore to a career path that includes diverse roles such as agricultural business consultant, turnaround dairy manager for a veterinary practice, technical advisor for a feed company, Merck Animal Health’s Global Ruminant Technical Director for Reproduction and Parasite Control and Technical Support for Lallemand Nutrition. Throughout all this experience, Dr. Andy has spent over 50 years learning the ins and outs of cattle. Dr. Andy is a member of AABP (American Association of Bovine Practitioners), AVC (Academy of Veterinary Consultants), ADSA (American Dairy Science Association) and ARPAS (American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists). Dr. Andy lives with his wife of over 40 years. They have 4 children and 11 grandchildren. The 2 girls live in Indianapolis with 6 of the grandchildren. The 2 boys live in Utah with their families and 5 other grandchildren. When Dr. Andy completes his “honey do list” and between grandchildren activities he enjoys wood working, wood carving, bee keeping and recently welding! Four of the last nine months he has been attending trade school to become a welder. The other 5 months have been spent trying to heal and rehabilitate his left hand after a traumatic encounter with a table saw.
